My dh's uncle killed himself today.
My fil called a while ago to tell us. I just don't understand. He was married (and they are VERY religious...Catholic) and he went upstairs to thier bedroom, wrote a note, and got out his moose hunting riffle (sp???) tied a rope to his foot, put it in his mouth and pulled the trigger. His wife and 2 kids (in thier early 20's) were downstairs. They heard the bang, went upstairs and found him. He said in the note that he was close to early retirement (he was 55), and was having problems, and thought the company would let him go due to economic issues. It's too horrible to think of what they saw, especially days before Christmas, which they they so beleived in.
I don't know what to think or what to do. Please say a prayer for his wife and kids if you feel inclined to do so.
Thanks.
Lesley

I am so sorry for your loss and his family.
It takes a lot for a person to do something like that and in his mind, it must have been enough. I just wish people would think about the ones they leave behind.
I tried to kill myself when I was younger, but I thought that the problems I would cause afterwards would be worse then the ones I were feeling at that time.
Again, I am sorry for your loss and I pray they get through this.
So sorry for your family's loss
