I was going through my morning article surfing yesterday and found this one that gives tips for being a happier mom:

I try not to guilt myself about what I'm not able to get done during the day, and praise myself for what I do get done.

Yep I agree with all of that... especially the don't try to be perfect. I do the best I can and my kids are happy and healthy and that is what matters. I also need my alone time Sunday mornings to recharge. I can really feel it the weeks when something comes up and I don't get that time.

The way I stay happy with my son is taking him to the park so we both can enjoy each outside of the house. Playiing outside with other parents and kids puts a smile on his face while playing in the sand or on the swing. I also have to work out to get my energy up and frustartion out. It feels a lot better when you come home and take a shower.

I would love to take the kids to the park if the weather was cooperating. We're in the Chicago area, and the weather is just stupid right now. We got about 9 inches of snow on Friday. Today, it's gone and the sun is out. We've been spending a lot of time at the indoor play areas lately. There's one close to home that's free. There's another that charges admission that's a lot bigger with more for the kids to do, but it's kind of a drive to get there.
