Strep??

Justin was home today with a horrible-looking throat. I'm hoping it's not strep. That's all we need in the house right before Christmas. And we just got over our colds, and my DH's pulled muscle! Bad health luck has struck here lately. We went such a long time without any of us getting sick, I guess it just all built up and hit with a vengeance, LOL!

I can't stand the elementary school nurse here. When I called him in sick this morning, she argued with me about it possibly being strep by telling me "Strep is not going around here right now." Um, OK, whatever. . . When I called Michael at work and told him, he said "Well it is now!" He agreed that Justin probably has strep from my description. This nurse is like 100 years old and really needs to retire. I hate calling him & Matthew in sick because I hate dealing with her. She can't stand the fact that my husband treats my kids at home for minor stuff, and I don't take them to the doctor's for every little thing. I think she just thinks that's unethical or unfair to the moms who aren't married to doctors, or something. But it was all I could do to tell her where to stick her unwarranted advice and attitude. . . And Justin is scared of her!! LOL! I don't blame him one bit. . .

Anyway, his throat is very red and swollen, and he's talking kind of funny. He's also not nearly as hyper as he usually is, but just kind of laying around. I'm thinking this is strep! UGH!! I'll have to wait for Michael to come home and do the Gag Test to be sure, but that's my hunch :(

Poor Justin. Strep sucks, and so does the gag test. And what's with the nurse? Who cares that you hubby is a doctor. In fact, good for you. If it's something minor that he can take care of, why drag the kids off to the doctor. And if they have something contageous (sp?) then you might be able to catch it before the whole school gets infected.

So when you call your kids in sick, you have to talk the the nurse....huh.

oh no! I am so thankful none of my kids have ever had strep. What a witchy nurse... sounds like she definitely needs to retire... that or get a hot young boyfriend to put her in a good mood (j/k lol)

I'm sending up lots of good health prayers for your household... sounds like you need it!!!!
