Well we got a really great offer on our old house and mentally I was already spending the 8-9K we would get back at closing (paying off the van, getting a new furnace).

I have 2 nieces who live real close and I feel like I should take them out for some girl time but they just annoy me. Their parents give in to them on everything and it drives me nuts that I will tell them not to do something and they will say OK and then turn around and do exactly what I told them not to! I like the idea of borrowing a girl, I do not envy SIL down the road when they are both teenagers.

Ugh about the house needing a new well. Is there anything that can be done to avoid it?

If there is storm damage, your homeowner's insurance would probably cover it and you'd only have to pay the deductible. Would that be worth it?

I'm sorry you're feeling down about not having a girl. I'm sure your friends comments aren't intended to make you feel bad. My family is notorious for speaking before thinking. You'll probably feel differently once the baby is here. I hated the thought of having a girl, and I was pretty disappointed when we found out. It turned out she's not the kid of girl who will let anyone put bows in her hair, let alone brush it. It turned out that she's basically Ian-part-2.

I like Rhae's idea about borrowing a girl for the day, too. My nieces get on my nerves too, but the girl who lives next door is awesome! I wouldn't mind borrowing her for a shopping trip!

I don't think the roof was damaged in the storm, just very bad timing on the appraiser being there since we'd never had issues before, it was a really bad storm, horizontal winds, tornado about 15 miles from here...

LOL Ian-part-2... we are done having kids so the 4 boys are it. I have thought of adoption but realistically it isn't really something I could see us doing.
