I can understand your pain ....wanting to get out but cannot cuz of the winter conditions....I found it depended on the road conditions and whether it is "snowing out" I used to walk my kids all the time espescially going to preschool or the bus stops....that was hard at times....but not sure of what strollers works better, I just never had the funds to buy a new stroller geared for "winter driving" those things cost a lot of money !! But I do like the idea of 3 in 1 strollers tho....car seat with base and stroller, how I wish I had those when I had my kids it would have made everything so much better and easier.... Susan

A stroller made like a sled is truly different... but unless you live where snow is year round, seems a bit of a waste. I love this stroller http://www.bobgear.com/strollers/stroller.php?product_id=4 Its huge wheels will roll through anything. :)

Sorry I can't help much, we don't get a lot of snow here during the winter (north carolina)! Maybe a jogging stroller would be heavy-duty enough? Or if you go to your local baby store, maybe they can offer some assistance/advice!

I prefer a three-wheel stroller with a lockable wheel for going through the snow and sand.

iVillage recently ranked the best strollers of 2010. I think this is a really helpful guide for anyone in the market for a new stroller: http://www.ivillage.com/uppababy-vista-2010/6-b-153265?ice=iv:mb:msg:js
