Youch! Sunburn is awful!

If he's in that much pain, try getting one of those pain-relief sprays for sunburn, like Solarcaine. Also, keeping the Aloe in the fridge feels really great when putting it on. Advil/ibuprofren can help with any inflammation from the burn being so bad too.

If by chance, you have any silky sheets or blankets...sleeping on those will feel much better too, than cotton or any other fabrics.

Hope this helps!

I get sunburned ALL THE TIME. I swear, if I even look at the sun I'm sunburned. For me there is nothing I can do but lotion, lotion, lotion! My back and shoulders got really burned a few weeks ago when we spent a lot of time outside and I was asking DH to put lotion on my back practically every hour. Aloe vera gel is supposed to be really good for sunburns too. But I think it is just something he's going to have to wait out. :(

Hi :) I hardly ever post on here, but wanted to share a trick I learned recently.

I bought some johnson's baby oil gel to help with my itchy preggo belly. I got a pretty bad sunburn earlier this summer, and put it on my burn while in the shower. It healed way faster than normal, and never peeled. My MIL also did this when she burned on july 4th. She didn't peal either. Just make sure to put it on in the shower, so the water can get some of the excess grease off (it's really greasy)

Hope this helps!

A friend told me to boil tea bags, cool them down and then lay the bags on the burn. The tannin in the tea helps to heal the burn. I haven't had to use it yet so I can't tell you if it works but she swears by it.

I've heard aspirin for the pain. And I always put tons of lotion on it to hopefully keep from peeling. Good luck!

As pp's have already mentioned...aloe!!! (I'm lucky enough to have a HUGE alow plant growing in my front yard...) That and the tea bags also really do help. (But please....do allow them cool enough! Don't ask me how I know that...lol.) Ibuprofen also helps with the swelling. Other than that, it's a matter of waiting out the burn.
