I used the Avent soft spout sippy cups with Hannah, and she seemed to take to those much easier. Once she was used to them she took to the cheaper sippys with no problem. She still won't drink her milk from them though (unless it's chocolate).
Both of my kids were breastfed, but other people I know would use the sippy cups during the day then switch to the bottle at night for a gradual change. I have heard though not to let them have a bottle after a year old. Once in a dentist office I heard a child crying...when I asked what was wrong the lady at the desk told me it was a three year old that had bad teeth from being on a bottle to long.
Hope that doesn't sound like a lecture! Just something I heard :)
Have you tried the Gerber soft spout? It is almost like a bottle, makes it easy to switch and get use to a cup. After awhile with that, you can try using a hard spout sippy. Good luck.
What I did was have a sippy cup on her highchair with water, so she could get used to it (and the milk/juice wouldn't get old).
I think I tried every sippy cup. I used the gerber ones (with the hard pointy top) and then moved over to the playtex insulator ones). I think I did try the avent ones first (since they are soft), but they dripped a lot, so I tried to get her to switch.
good luck - remember - they won't be on bottles forever, so even if it takes a while, they'll switch!
I like your signature :o)

Good question! Archie doesn't seem to want to drink from it either. He takes the drink in his mouth and then spits it back out. It doesn't
