FINALLY after 3 nights of bedtime battles w/ Emily, she finally slept all night!
At nearly 4 weeks old, her schedule will change 40 million times before it settles. I follow the old wives tales sometimes, let a sleepy baby sleep. It always worked for me with my kids. My lil man still needs his naps or he is NASTY. She probably sleep well because she didn't have that nap yesterday, but only because she was exhausted. I wouldn't force her not to take a nap. Babies need rest.
My 5 yr old still takes a nap, she will do it on her own. She is ROUGH if she doesn't have a break. Glad you got some sleep, and good luck

"What if the question is not why am I so infrequently the person I really want to be, but why do I so infrequently want to be the person I really am?"
Sometimes I have to wake Noah up if he sleeps for too long. He usually naps 2-3 hours in the afternoon. If I have my way he'll go down by one and up by four and then he's ready for bed by nine. If he goes past four I usually try to wake him up.

I would cut back her sleeping maybe 15 minutes and see how she sleeps that night. I would try maybe even a half an hour. As long as she seems to do okay in the afternoon with two hours of naptime and isn't cranky. My son never seemed to need that much sleep.
He would only sleep for two hours in the afternoon. I think he quit taking naps around
four yrs. Just play by ear and hope for the best. It's too bad there was no book to go with them. Good luck to ya! I hope it works out.
