Happy Monday Moms!
I'm hosting my first Thanksgiving and am a little nervous. I'm looking for any tried and true recipes you have that are always a hit. I'm especially looking for a deviled egg recipe.
What are you serving for appetizers? I need some ideas. So far I have deviled eggs, some chocolate candies and pumpkin bread.
Thanks in advance and happy almost Thanksgiving!!!
Adrienne, SAHM to Aidan (who just sat up by himself!! WOO HOO!!)

Since most people fill up on the main things like Turkey-Ham-Sweet Potatoes-Mashed Potatoes-Stuffing-Rolls, I usually do a side relish plate with cranberry sauce, pickles, olives, and deviled eggs. I am not sure the exact measurements of my recipe are, but I can tell you what I put in them. Mayo, mustard, celery seed, dried onion, finely chopped pepperoncini's, salt and pepper to taste. I like to top them with sliced olives.

Dijon-Deviled Eggs
- 6 hard-boiled eggs
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 1 green onion, very thinly sliced (slice a little of the green and keep separate from white)
- a few leaves of fresh flat-leaf parsley, finely chopped
- freshly ground black pepper
- salt, to taste
- paprika, optional
Halve or quarter eggs; scoop yolks into a small bowl. Mash well; add mayonnaise and Dijon until desired consistency is reached. Stir in white part of sliced onion and most of the chopped parsley. Taste and add salt and pepper to taste. Using a small teaspoon or pastry bag, fill egg white halves or quarters. Sprinkle with sliced green onion and remaining parsley. Sprinkle with a little pepper and/or paprika, if desired. From Southern U.S. Cuisine (southernfood.about.com).Makes 12 halves, 24 quarters. Recipe can be doubled.
