Thinking of going to work...

I have been thinking of going to work part-time for awhile now. We have some debt that I want to pay off, and if I went to work, we could pay it off quickly. For some reason the thought of having an evening job excites me. My dh would be home at night with the kids, so, we wouldnt have to take them anywhere for care. Has anyone ever considered this, and I know a few of you do work part-time, so, tell me are you happy, how does it work out for you? Thanks!

Hi, Kate. I'm in the process of trying to get a second shift job, also. I was going to wait until next summer (which would be the summer before the twins go to first grade) to look but then the hospital I was interested in working at actually posted the exact job I wanted in the paper. Soooo I decided to go for it. Summer sitting might be a little difficult for me, esp since I'll have to be trained some on first shift, but with the help of the ILs I should be able to do it. The twins start kindergarten in the fall and will be doing afternoon session, which works out great. There's a woman in the neighborhood who I trust who can get them off the bus and watch them until dh gets home, only 45 minutes later. I think if you can do it and want to you should.
