?FOR THOSE WHO OWN DOUBLE STROLLERS?

Okay, I'm looking to buy my first double stroller. I have two children. My daughter is 34 months and 35 lbs. and my newborn son will be using it. My daughter loves to ride in a stroller but I'm wondering if I'm wasting my money buying a double because the weight limit is 40lbs. Does anyone actually abide by those guidelines? Can the stroller be used for more them 40lbs? Am I wasting my money if my daughter gets to be 40lbs in a year?

Help!

I have a solution for you. I have a "sit-n-stand" stroller by graco that I purchased at baby's r us about 3 years ago. I know they still make them. Mine has a full seat in the front for a baby to sit in. It came with a conection to use with a newborn carrier to put baby in. you just take the connectors off when baby is old enough to sit in regular stroller seat. This seat does recline and come with a retractable sun shade. In the back in an area for an older child. My older ds used it when he was four. The seat for the toddler or older child can push up so that the child can stand up and ride. My son loved this and felt like a big boy riding in it. It is a little bulky so probably would not be good if you have a small car. It was very easy for me to get in and out though. My older ds used the back till he was 6 and when no one is looking will still sometimes catch a ride since the weight limit goes up to 130 lbs.

The drawbacks are that the older child has to stand if baby is older and is sleeping in the regular seat leaning back. The sun shade also only cover one child at a time so i had to purchase an umbrella for older ds when he was litttle. It also did not have a mommy drink holder.

I found it pretty easy to turn onehanded(with both kids)
