Time for exercise?

When do you find the time for exercise, or don't you? Do you find it easier during a certain time of day; morning before the kids are up or evenings after they go to bed? Or does DH help out so you can have some time for yourself?

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in my early 20s, so exercise had to become a priority for me.

Since Connor is just 7.5 months old, I don't feel comfortable leaving him in the daycare at our gym. From the few times I've been in there, it seems there are 2 teenaged girls watching over a LOT of kids....all older kids too (walking). I've never seen a baby in there!

So that limits my time to exercise to evenings only, afte rTim gets home from work! So far, it's been working pretty well. I have a group of friends that attend classes with me, so that's motivational. We usually do Zumba classes a couple times a week and then another aerobics type class; step, bootcamp or playball. We're supposed to start doing yoga on Wed. evenings, but it doesn't start 'til 7 and by then we're all tired! lol

I really need to find a routine, especially once the weather gets nicer, to go on strolls with Connor! If I could just walk or do yoga at home or something in the mornings, I'm sure it would help my weight loss goals a ton!!

I felt the same way when my eldest was under a year. I would exercise at home, in our basement, while he napped. And when the weather got nice, we would hit the streets with the stroller. We went for a LOT of long walks. I miss those days.

I love zumba! I have an ankle injury at the moment and can't do it, so I'm really missing it.

I love zumba, one of my favorite classes! I have no coordination either, NOT a dancer lol! But it's a lot of fun! They were only offering it once a week, I was happy when they started a 2nd evening class!

Zumba does look like a lot of fun! I'm completely uncoordinated, too, so I'm afraid to try it. I have gym equipment at home, so I try to get my workout in before the kids get up from school. It really helps to wake me up and get me motivated to start the day.

Oh you should still give it a try, Jen! I'm not coordinated either, and there are ladies in our class who are even more uncoordinated than me, and it's still a great time! And really, no one is watching you, everyone watches the instructor for the next move! :)

Ya I've just started getting up before the kids wake up. My kids are 3 and 9 months, so it's busy during the day. I also run, but I find doing something quite that yoga or pilates in the morning really helps me physically and mentally to prepare for the day. I usually try to get a run in before supper when my husband gets home.

I used to do walks during the day when the kids went to school and then I was motivated for the day to do what I needed to do. But now the weather is very cold, and wet and very cold....yes, winter here....so I have not been out for a walk in about a month now and I am starting to get cabin fever...I have an exercise machine (elliptical) but my sons are usually sleeping and I do not like to wake up sleeping kids....I started my Jillian Michaels workout last summer then we moved and I have not gotten back into it yet...I sure miss my workouts...I have to do my workouts when it is daylight out cuz I cannot see very good in the dark and with my luck I will hurt myself big time... Bri, I am considering it! I'm afraid I would somehow wind up on YouTube. I was watching some YouTube videos of Zumba to see what it was all about. There were some obviously coordinationally-challenged (word?) ladies in the back row that everyone was commenting on! They were trying their hardest, though, and it looked like they were enjoying the class!

lol Jen, well just make sure they aren't filming your class!! :D I did the zumba party for Wii with my friend this weekend. It was a lot of fun and very similar to the gym class! If you have a Wii, maybe you can rent or borrow it, or find a friend who has it! LOL Give it a try that way :)
