Studies are showing that today's kids are less fit than their counterparts of thirty years ago.  They say that kids need an accumulated 60 minutes of moderately vigorous excercise a day.  I know my kids don't get that, except maybe my six-year-old; do yours?

Mine do, but it's only because they are pretty heavily involved in martial arts.  My 9YO trains six days a week.  My 5YO is about half that, but they're pretty active when they go outside.  If they had their way, they would rather spend time indoors so I have to make a conscious effort to make them spend time outside when it's clear they'd rather do something indoors.  I spent most of my childhood outside.  I think we just have too many electronic gadgets that help them lose track of time, so I have to limit screen time.

I'm with you on the screen time!  Monster, the 3yo, is addicted to movies and the tablet.  He loves playing Angry Birds and Cut The Rope and would play them for hours at a time if he could.
