I had a 6 page documented essay due Monday...so I got about 10 hours of sleep since Friday night (not only from working on the paper but kids have been very sick and I have gotten to a point of stress that I cannot sleep at night). Okay so Tuesday morning starts out okay. I get the 20 mth old up (Jake) and feed him then get the 3 yr. old up (Ethan) and feed him. Make a doctor's appt for Jake and proceed to put him down for a nap until such time as its needed to go. Find Ethan. Ethan has had a massive bowel movement that can only be termed as liquid. It has decorated him and my living room floor. So I get him wiped up, get the floor somewhat sanitized and proceed to throw him and myself in the shower for some antibacterial soap. Get him dressed and myself and go for the little one to throw some clothes on him and be on my way out the door for the doctor's appt. Open his bedroom door...familiar smell...my child is naked! Yes you guessed it..he has unclothed his shirt, his pants, his poopy diaper and has proceeded to decorate himself, the walls, the bed, the carpet, and the local stuffed animals in poop. Can you say mental breakdown? I actually had to walk out of the room (not just from the smell) and talk myself down from the ledge. I grab the poopy toddler, take him to my shower (because he is way to messy to even take downstairs to the kitchen sink where his bathing stuff is) and proceed to wash his hair and body and face in antibacterial Dial. Got that finished and realize fixing to be late so I call DH..and proceed to UNLOAD!!! I say in no uncertain terms that if he can't help me take the kids to the doctor then by all means he is to find his sorry but a way home to A. Clean the downstairs carpet from the 1st round and B. Sanatize and clean Jake's room from the second round...if he cannot do this by the time I get home..then I WILL NOT COME HOME!!! I was loosing it!!! Life flashing before my eyes! I take the baby to the doctor and he has a sinus infection and bronchitis so after a 30 dollar co pay I now have 60 dollars in meds =)...and not to add a take home test in Calculus I haven't even started...To say the least after about 3 hours I had gained rationality once more only to say to myself, BEING A MOTHER IS ABOUT THE MOST EXCITING JOB I COULD EVER HAD...
This story of non -fiction is from the diaries of a deranged mother: Warning do not try this at home!
Hugs to you all..don't we have the best job in the world =)

if it makes things better for you, your post actually made me laugh!!! I needed that. Oh the joys of kids learning to take thier pants/diapers off while unattended. My dd (17 months) just started doing that in the last week, my dh looked at me and said "can't you do something to stop that??? she's gonna crap on the floor someday!" Right, like I will just pull out my magic wand and all bad habits dissapear!!!
I hope your little one feels better soon, and good luck on your test!

I am hoping that your dh was kind enough to come home and help you.
I hope your day is better soon.
Hope your day...today is better!
Good luck on getting your school work done.
I hope you don't mind us being amused. I have been through a few days like that myself so I feel for ya!
Motherhood sure can be gross huh? Never thought I'd be the kind to idly overpass a tissue in favor of my shirt when my ds's have a snooty nose, just for convience sake...lol :)
