Update on Dalton

Well, I took Dalton to the dr at 11. I told the dr what was going on and what I wanted done and also what I thought.
He said what he thought and then told me he thinks it is nasal drip problem and put him on antibiotics.
Said give it 10 days and then come back if it is not better and we would go from there.
I am just praying this does the trick.

Praying with you Mel!

Nasal drip?? Hmm. . . Now I'm no doctor, but that seems like a lame "Get-out-of-my-office-I'm-busy" excuse to me. Write a 'scrip for antibiotics when he probably doesn't need antibiotics, and they might even mess up his stomach more. And did he even have cold symptoms??
Sorry, don't mean to second-guess your doctor here. Perhaps he's right. I'm not the one with the MD. But nasal drip certainly wouldn't have occurred to me to cause such long-lasting and violent stomach problems!!
I hope the doctor's right and the antibiotics work and he's well on his way to recovery. Don't mean to be Debbie Downer here ;)

If Sophia is Debbie Downer, then I must be Donna Downer, because I have to agree with her. I can see how nasal drip could cause vomiting, but not the diarrhea. If it is a bacterial infection, antibiotics could still help. Could make it worse, though, too. If this doesn't work you should consider seeing a different doctor for a fresh opinion. That doesn't mean you have to totally change doctors if you're not comfortable with it, but didn't you say he's not taking newborns anymore anyway?
Keeping my fingers crossed that he's right and things get better soon! You deserve a break!
Erin
Praying that this helps, but I am also in the "I have no answers for you" group. Nasal drip should not cause the severity of his sickness and not diarhea.
