Friday my DH took the kids back to the Y in the evning to "fun swim". It took him 15 min. to just get Liz in the pool which is very unusual. Then another 45 min. before she would jump in...again very unusual. But finally she did. As soon as she got out of the water we asked her if she had fun. She said ,"Yes I did but I'm not going to lessons again." Then this morning she started again....I don't want to go to lessons, I'm scared, please no lessons. My DH took the girls to lessons and spoke to the "teacher" telling her there was a trust problem that needed to be resolved and that we did not want Elizabeth terrified of the water any more. He told her not to "dunk" Elizabeth unless she said she wanted to to and not to make her jump unless she was ready. THe girl agreed with everything DH said and he said she really made an effort to bond w/ Liz and Liz seemed much more comfortable. She would not jump at the end of class but the teacher quickly said "Ok maybe tomorrow." So it all turned out well except now my feathers are ruffled because it amazes me that I said the same thing to that girl Friday except in a MUCH nicer way and she got soooo defensive. But let a nice looking man go in and say it and it's "oh look that daddy is so worried about his little girl." Not my DH's fault but still highly annoying. But the bottom line is Liz is OK so I'll put my women's lib stuff on hold for today!! ESpecially since we are renewing our vows this weekend for our 10 year anniversary and DH is responsible for getting Liz to agree to swim in the pool at the hotel.

I'm glad she's starting to come around with the swimming, it must been intimidating for her, and that can be hard, but maybe she just needed time.
