Wow that sounds wonderful. But I totally understand how frustrating the roller-coaster can be. Hopefully your DH will get exactly what he wants. And your life will be easier.

And Michele I have wanted to tell you to come down to the DYK section. It is great down there and you learn so much about everyone. Come down and join us.

Wow, I bet your dh wasn't expecting that! Thats really great they think soo highly of him and made him that awesome offer. No, that doesn't happen often in the corporate world. It's a hard decision to make, but you both will make the best decision for your family. I know what you mean about money, its not everything, BUT its sooo nice to have. You have more security and you don't stress out as much. I hope everything goes well today!

WOW!! You Dh really must be "the man"! That really is wonderful news!! I know what you mean about the extras... and not having them. No trips, eating out, etc. We don't have anything left over either. So, I'm really happy tp hear things are looking up for you with this!! I'll take any job vibes you have to spare!!

Wow, Michele! That's just amazing! What a compliment to your husband! You must be so proud of him. It just shows what a valuable and dedicated asset he is to his company. And it's really good news, too, financially, like you said. Your DH must be very good at what he does! What an ego boost, he must feel so good. Like you said, it's a good thing he tried to resign, or none of this would have happened. That's wonderful news and CONGRATULATIONS to both of you! I hope he's much happier in whatever new position he takes.

Keep us posted.

DH is constantly telling me that everything happens for a reason. Now, I have no patience, so I want to know what the reason is now instead of figuring it out later. I'm not sure what career change your DH was looking at, but this must not be the right time. Don't worry, it will come. In a few years you will both look back and laugh that you were considering it when you did.

On the other hand - WOW - the VP took the time to sit with him and pretty much give him what he wants. He must be doing one heck of a job there, and it's a great thing that someone realized it and decided to keep a valuable employee. Too many times I have seen upper management let someone great leave over petty things. Not that his reason for leaving was petty by any means, but that he took the time to recognize your husband for his valuable contributions to the company. What a holiday gift!

WOW!! It sounds like they really want to keep your dh. That's wonderful for you that he talked with you about before just outright accepting. To bad there aren't more companies out there that are willing to do what your dh's did. Congrats for both of you!!

Wow Michele, this is a big opportunity! Your dh must be a very valuable employee for them to not accept his resignation. It's also nice that he will be able to "choose" the job he wants and salary. I mean extra money is nice and all but if he can do something that makes him happy then that is great! IMO working at a job you hate is one of the worst feelings. I hope he is able to negotiate a good position in the company as well as good salary. It will be nice for you to be able to take a trip once in a while or put extra into savings or whatever you wish to do with it.

Good Luck!
