What a change - again!

Most of you might know my story. I was a SAHM for the first six months of my son's life, then I went back to work full time. Monday I quit my job and I am staying home again with Noah who is now 14 months old. It's only been three days but you know what? I'm more tired being at home than I was when I was working. I find it harder to get up in the morning too even though now I get to sleep in until 7 or 8. Before I was up between 6 and 6:30 so I could get ready for work before Noah woke up. Why is that?

I think it has something to do with the fact that the majority of my work now is physical, i.e. cooking, cleaning, chasing after Noah, wrestling with him to get dressed, get in the bath, etc. instead of mental where at work I was at a computer for most of the day helping people with their accounts. Maybe my brain is sluggish. *shrug*

I probably just really need to get on a good schedule. But I guess, what's the point? It'll be thrown out of whack in four months when I have baby #2. Oh well, for now, I'll just be sleepy.

Welcome back. I too did the SAHM thing and then returned to work only to stop working again shortly after ds #2 came along. We just couldn't swing the daycare for two children.

Give yourself some time to get back into the swing of things. Even when SAHMing is something you want/desire, it can be stressful and tiring to make the change.

Tarra,

I noticed in your profile that you live in Alaska. I lived in Anchorage Alaska from 1994-2005. I now live in Arizona. Do you live in Anchorage? I miss the white snow so bad. Some days more than others. I really miss the LIVE DOLLS display that was held every Christmas time at the Egan Center? Have you ever been to it? I hope they still have it, it's wonderful. Anyway, I just wanted to say Hey, to an Alaskan from a former Alaskan ;)

Julia,

I used to live in Anchorage. I do remember the live dolls display. It was always so beautiful. I completely forgot about that. Man, Noah would love to see that. He'd have a blast. I'm actually in Fairbanks, and have been up here for a couple of years. It seems like a lot of people move between Alaska and Arizona. My whole family pretty much is in Arizona right now, they all moved away and have all recently moved back. Good to talk to you!
