What do you do for fun?
| Thu, 04-12-2007 - 3:23pm |
I'm trying to figure out what else there is to do during the day? My kids are very good and while they nap I like to get dressed up for the day. I love to play with my hair or makeup and just keep myself looking as nice as possible. I'm just wondering if other stay at home moms take time to look nice or do you all look like the ladies in my neighborhood?

Oh, I do lots of stuff for fun! I have too many hobbies! I love to read, I read way too much! I like to crochet (mostly for charity). I love movies. I love to cook. I love to write.
I shower, get dressed, and wear
I would love more time to make myself pretty.
At first I thought I was just asking a question about make up and didn't understand why everyone was being so mean to me. But when I went back and read what I typed I saw how bad it came out. I didn't mean it like that. I was brought up asking a lot of questions and I just thought I was doing that. Sorry to everyone. I'm just trying to fit in with ladies that I thought were nice to each other that's all.

nah, you asked what we do for fun.
Danielle,
I don't think that anyone was trying to be *mean* to you. This board is full of women who are supportive and understanding.
Maybe the way you typed your post wasnt how it was meant to sound, but reading the responses I didn't see where anyone was being mean or rude to you. Most of us don't have time, or don't care to wear make-up constantly, that doesn't mean that we don't care about our bodies or our husbands. Marriage has to be a lot stronger than just on looks alone -- because as we all know, looks will eventually fade.
I really hope that you stick around and get to know us all better.

I didn't mean to make you ladies upset. I guess I don't know what I was trying to say. I just wanted to know if anyone else got dressed up for fun like I do.
I'm so sorry.

ok, I know that you are new to ivillage and al this, and also know that at times, things can be worded wrong, and taken in a tone that was not intended. It happens at times, thats the hard thing about message boards, you cant hear the persons tone of voice...however, I think people were rather nice to you, given the fact that you made many people feel belittled because of thier choice not to dress up daily.
we try to play nice and be respectful to everyone, all we ask is that we are treated the same way kwim?
