What do you do with sentimental papers?

Hi all -

I just found this board recently, and thought for my first post I would pose a question. What do you do with your sentimental items from each kid? I have 3, 2 of which are in school. They bring home so many cute things from school - art, report cards, homework, writing, etc, and all the clutter is driving me NUTS! Do any of you seasoned moms have any advice for me? The kids papers (and clothes, by the way - I can't get rid of that either... too attached to the memories!) are taking over my house!

Any advice??

I'm not quite there yet, my girls are still little, but I hang onto everything too, and am curious to see what other moms do.

I try to pick only the ones that really stand out to me.

I am not to that point yet, my DS is only 4 months, but I do have a suggestion. One thing that I am going to do is take pictures of everything so that I can get rid of things when I have to but I always have the picture to keep the memory alive. Now this does not mean that I will not keep somethings but this way I can be more diserning.

Thank the world for digital cameras.

I read that one mother scans or takes pictures of all of them and saves them on

I try to keep a few things from each year of school ( art related) and scrapbook them.

Thanks for all the great ideas.

I've heard the digital camera one. How do you take a good picture of a piece of art? Any particular camera settings or lighting you should use?

What you can do is place it near a window with good light.

I didn't read the PP, but wanted to add something that I saw done and worked. My aunt has three little ones. The pantry door is used to display art work. Each kid has 2 pictures up. If they bring home a new one, they have to pick whick piece of art to take down (& throw away),. It works realy well for them. GL
