What Do You Think?

I was just watching the news about Alec Baldwin flipping out on his DD, then I read his explanation for it on Yahoo, I like him, he's one of my fave actors, and he this is what he said:

"Although I have been told by numerous people not to worry too much, as all parents lose their patience with their kids, I am most saddened that this was released to the media because of what it does to a child," he wrote. "I'm sorry, as everyone who knows me is aware, for losing my temper with my child. I have been driven to the edge by parental alienation for many years now. You have to go through this to understand. (Although I hope you never do.) I am sorry for what happened. But I am equally sorry that a court order was violated, which had deliberately been put under seal in this case."

I guess we all lose patience with our kids, and for us peons it's usually behind closed doors, and for him, he was publicized....I'm not sure what to think, anyone else have an opinion?

I did not post this with the intent to cause any drama or tension between anybody that has different opinions, so please don't take it that way, it was just something I saw and was thinking about.

I don't think I would have used his language but I can see how he would be flipping out. You lose your patience sometimes. I can't imagine going through a really messy divorce like he is.

I did not hear what he said. How did the press find out about whatever he did say?

Kim and Alex have been using Ireland as a ping pong ball ever since their very hostile, very public, very messy divorce. It's so incredibly sad. I wouldn't be surprised if Kim sent the message to the media.

I think that every parent gets frusterated, and I'm sure we've all said things to our children that we regret. Heck, Dylan is nine months old and there have been times that I've had to go into the other room and scream into a pillow....

Sounds like someone needs to step up and be the bigger person here and just back off for a while for the sake of the child. Atleast he apologized...but I never heard what he said, so I don't know if an apology would cut it.

I think both parents have unfortuneately dragged their child right into the middle of it, and to make matters even worse, this is something that is in the media and she will be exposed to, it's too bad for her, she's only 11.

You can hear him on Yahoo, but it was pretty bad, he snapped, they think that Kim Basinger leaked the voice mail to TMZ.com to stick it to him, apparently from what people say, she's just as bad as he is with this whole thing, but TMZ may face a lawsuit for airing the tape without his consent?

I agree with you too, he seems to be a stand up guy and so does Kim, but I think they are so bitter towards each other that the claws have come out and its just as nasty as any custody battle could get, only this couple is in the spotlight, and in their business, I can only imagine how many other kids are caught in the middle of bitter custody fights that aren't in the public eye, it's too bad.
