What ELSE could go wrong?

I suppose with my luck I really shouldn't ask that question. We have both of our vehicles down. Neither one of them is driveable right now. How terrible is that? Sunday morning DH left for work in his Jetta and called from the road to let me know that the rear wheels had locked up and he was coming home because the car is not driveable. Being that the temps were below 30 below zero he couldn't leave the car at the gas station so he was driving it home slowly, dragging the back end. In doing that he snapped an ABS sensor and his ABS light is on. We can't drive the car until we can get it to the shop and have the damage assessed and taken care of. Well, okay, in the event of an emergency where I desperately need a vehicle I could drive it, but I would have three brakes instead of four so it is not up to par for everyday use.

So Monday and Tuesday he took my Durango to work. He called on his way home last night to tell me that the check engine light was BLINKING at him, that the car was barely driving and it is not going to be driveable. When he got home he comes in the door and says, "yeah, your Durango just caught on fire." I was like, "what!?!?" He doesn't know exactly what happened and it was too dark for him to look at it last night but he thinks a power steering line snapped and the power steering fluid caught on fire. It was only under the hood and it went out quickly but the interior of the Durango filled with black smoke and now has a smell.

We had to call his dad who is driving DH's 1984 Bronco II and have him give that back to us so DH could have a vehicle to get to work in. DH is livid because both of our new cars (bought within the last year) aren't running right now. He's going on and on about how his Bronco that he bought for $600 two years ago is running better than our new cars. So we're estimating a

HUGS HUGS HUGS!! Goodness gracious. It is good that you were thinking of it actually be a blessing in disguise. It would have been awful if it was you in the vehicle. Everyone that I know that has owned a Durnago has had some serious problems with theirs. Must be the year or something. I am sorry that happended. Similiar things were happing to us recently and you do have to find something good out of all the mess or else you would pull out your hair. I hope things start looking up soon and good luck with the boys. I didn't realize it was for only one month. I thought it was a premanent thing. I would of taken it too for one month. That will bring in a little extra money. Trish :)
