Okay, so today I was supposed to have a routine checkup on my pregnancy to make sure everything was going well. I had scheduled my appointment too late and was told that I would have to wait until after Jan .17th to have my ultrasound because there wouldn't be enough time today and the doctor is leaving town for a few weeks. So I resigned to the fact that I would have to wait and told DH this. It was okay with him because he had to work today and wouldn't be able to go anyway.
I took my friend out to lunch today to thank her for watching Noah while I went to the doctor. Because her and her hubby were having a little tiff she asked if she could come with me to the doctor and watch Noah in the waiting room. As we were talking we both thought it would be exciting for her to hear the baby's heartbeat so I said that if we weren't doing any vaginal exams or anything she could be in the room with me.
When the doctor came in he asked if we were doing an ultrasound and I told him no because I was told we wouldn't have enough time. He said we could make time really fast if I wanted to do an ultrasound and find out the sex of the baby. I was so excited!!! A little bummed, because DH wasn't there, but excited that my friend got to be there with me. At least I wasn't alone. Well, as the doctor put it, it's a hamburger, not a hotdog. LOL
We're having a little girl!!!
Now I just have to think of a neat way to tell DH so he's not disappointed that he missed it. I'm so excited!

Arie,
Alaska is not too polluted. Where we live it gets very cold during the winter time and there is usually a problem controlling how much exhaust and pollution is trapped at low levels because of the cloud cover. It's very beautiful here, though.
