For those of you who celebrate Easter... how are you stuffing the baskets this year? Do you do all candy? no candy? Are chocolate bunnies a must? Or are you a chocolate egg family? Are you doing no candy this year? Do you hide the baskets? or eggs?

I like to do a theme.. corny, I know.

This will be the first we year we do anything, and we probably wouldn't even do that if we weren't living near my dh's family. My side of the family just sends a few cards and goes to church together. We don't go to church, so that wouldn't appeal to us anyway. Sil is hosting a big egg hunt and dinner, so we'll be there. It'll the boys' first egg hunt. Mil used to send baskets to us when we were in the military, and they were always stuffed full of candy. We stopped each so much candy about two years ago, and we asked her to find something else to send, so she found clear little carrots (like the eggs) and put in genuine $2 bills for the boys to collect. It had a few pieces of candy in it (which we said was okay, just as long as it wasn't ALL candy), and Aryc even got to eat some of it. He loved it! We just don't really celebrate holidays much. To us, they're just another day. And for so long we've had absolutely no money (including now), so we don't buy gifts just for holidays. We're the kind of family where, if we're out and see something one of us will absolutely love, we buy it and give it. It doesn't matter what time of year - we like to celebrate each other and our family, every day.

Noah is too young for a lot of candy so I will be doing some little toys and maybe a few bits of candy like the peeps and a chocolate bunny or something. I'll buy a stuffed animal and a few little race cars since he is so into cars. Maybe I'll get him a helium balloon or something since he loves balloons. I won't be hiding it. I'll probably put it out in the morning so the animals don't get to it first. Then we'll color eggs and do a small easter egg hunt. I'm so excited now that he is getting old enough to actually have fun with the holiday stuff.
