When should I call on WIC?

I quit my job last week. My last day was Friday. I have one more half paycheck coming. We qualify for WIC with just DHs income and probably with my half paycheck but not with my full paycheck. I am guessing I should tell them that I recently quit my job. It was paying a truck payment $100 (which is gone, sold), daycare and giving us about $100 cash. And that was every two weeks. I don't want them thinking that I just quit to go on WIC, but we are going to need it until we can figure out what will go where. I need food in my house for my kids.

Elise and Olivia will both be big sisters!!!

WIC can take a while to get into depending on where you live. They only cover pregnant moms & children up to age 5 I believe. They usually require certain tests for iron levels & such. I would call ASAP to get the ball rolling.

Stefanie, You do not have to mention that you just quit. Just take in your dh's paycheck stubs since he is the only one working now. When you call to make an appt (sometimes they take walk ins) ask them what you need to take. Good luck to ya! We wouldn't be able to survive without WIC for our little guys formula.
