I used Winsor Pilates before I got pregnant again, and I love it! It doesn't look hard or very intense until you try it. After having babies my stomach muscles
I also workout A LOT, run 2 miles 4 days out of the week at the gym, lift weights, etc... One thing I do at home, it called "The Firm". I dont know if you have ever heard of it, but its a GREAT workout. They use a stepper, and free weights. I have a set that comes in a set of 4, one tape for abs, one for arms, one for legs, and one is a total body workout. Its REALLY hard and great. Hope this helps! :)(Ive also heard Windsor pilates is great, but never tried it). kate
I'm exhausted just reading your post!!!! I am a big loser when it comes to working out but part of my focus on reprioritizing my life includes taking better care of myself as well. I am joining Curves this weekend and am going to start running. Let me know if you find some videos you like because I would also like to do some exercise videos in the morning as well.
Yeah, I think running is great, its a great cardio workout, plus it tones. But since i've been using weights about 1 year ago, there's a HUGE difference, especially in my arms. I usually use weight machines at the gym for my arms, shoulders, back. But, at home, I follow "The Firm" tape for arms. Its all upperbody for about 45 minutes, it's REALLY great, it works every part of your arms, shoulders and back. The set of tapes I have, I purchased them at Sam's club, the set of 4 was only $20! I think on tv, they advertise them for a lot more. But, what I have is a little different, it looks a little old, but the workout is wonderful. I have dumbbells rangin from 5lbs-12 lbs and thats enough weight foe me! they do a lot of repetetion, so your arms get tired fast. I dont think you will need more then 12 lbs. And if you dont get "The Firm", then maybe just look up on the internet some things you can do to tone your arms with free weights....i'm the kind of person, when i'm using free weights, I like someone directing me...If you need anything else, just ask! kate
I alternate days on working different body parts. I do arms one day then legs the next. I have only been going to the gym about 3-4 times a week, so the days I dont go, I have just been running on my treadmill. At the gym I go to, there's a machine that looks like you're walking up steps, its REALLY tall..do they have a machine like that at yours? Anyway, I read that any cardio workout where you're actually lifting your heels tones your legs really well. So,if you go on the machine that looks like you're walking up steps, that would be your cardio workout, plus it would tone your "behind",too. Running is great for that, too. I run 2 miles in about 22 minutes, trying for 20 minutes, not quite there! :) Also, lunges are great for your behind, and squats. They do ALL of this in the "firm" tapes. But, you can also create a workout for yourself doing lunges, squats, leg lifts, etc... I just liked doing the firm because someone's instructing you. IM constantly trying to work on my behind and hips, so I pretty much know a lot of workouts on how to tone those areas. Also, at your gym thre should be a few weight machines just for your butt..Maybe you could jump on those right after your cardio workout, it would only take about 5-10 minutes to do 2 machines. Hope this helps! I'm like addicted to working out, lol. kate
Ps. another great workout for behind-- you put your knees on the floor(doggystly position)-thats the only way to describe it! Elbows on the floor and knees on the floor. And put a weight in between the back of your knee and hold it there, bend your leg and lift. its kind of hard to explain..
The bike thing sounds SOO kool(RAIN)! I just think eveyrone needs to find a workout schedule that is good for them. I would LOVE to run in a race or something..they have someting here its a 5k, only 3 miles, I think I could do it..it's in May. But my Dh and I are TTC, so if I get pregnant that would be a little difficult! kate
