Would any of you ever consider going to work? And why?
I think I might, but only when my son is in school (he is only 2.5 years old now) and if we don't have a second child by then (which I pray we will!).

We literally can't afford for me to work... we have one car and can't afford another one. My dh works 25 minutes away, and we can't afford the gas for me to keep the car everyday to drop off/pick up kids and go everywhere. My entire paycheck would go to daycare, so it's pointless. Plus I homeschool for many reasons, so no I would not.
I would consider it if I was home to take the kids to school, and home to them when they come home. No evenings or weekends.
The why is simple. I think that kids need at least one parent home when they are baby, child, or teen. Studies have been done telling that the majority of teenagers ingaging in sex, drugs, and dangerous/stupid activity do it when? Afterschool when no parent is home. And resounding over and over again is the teens themselves saying so, and that the wouldn't have if mom had been home if for the simple fact that because physically they wouldn't have been able to with mom home.
My children need me even after they go to school. Our area is lacking the help it needs at school, so I volunteer a lot of my time now to help with Andres classes.
Also, my kids seem to get sick a lot more then normal kids
Hi, Josee. I am probably going back to work very soon. My twins are starting kindergarten this year and they will be going in the afternoon. I'm looking at getting a part time evening shift job. This would be a 3-11 position, the twins don't get off the bus until 3:45 and dh is home by 4:30, so I just need someone to keep my 3 for about 45 minutes 2 times/week.
I had a career before I became a sahm and have a long term plan to getting back into it.
Step 1: part-time second shift job
step 2: when the twins are in school full time, part-time second shift job + going to school during the day to finish my 4 year degree and expand my certification
step 3: full time days shift job and then work my way up into management from there
Don't get me wrong, I love being a sahm, but I have to plan for 3 kids in college at the same time and a time when they are grown. For our family, this is the best plan.

Yes.
i have worked since i was 16 yrs old( when i had my first child) until i went into premature labor w/ my last one...i havent worked since. going on 2 yrs and 3 mos now...there are some days when i just want to get out of the house and work, but then when i weigh everything down, i realize how much happier i am to be at home with all my kids, not having to rush everywhere
if all my kids were in school (i now have 3, one left at home) i wouldnt mind going back in as a part timer, i would much rather be driving school buses again which is a job i LOVED...who konws what will happen down the road tho :)

I guess when she is older, and in school all day I might go back.
