Okay, for one sec, think of this scenario, you are working full-time, whether it is in the home or outside of the home...your child's birthday is coming up and you have ZERO time to plan it.

Hi Michele,
I think it's a great idea. Even if a person has the time to do it not all of us are party wizards . So having someone with a flair for paries might be a great help. It sounds like a wedding planner type thing right? I have heard of people doing theme parties and usually they only do one type like a tea party or another I heard does a dress up a bear party. LIke the places at the mall do but they do it at the home. IF you have lots of contacts that would surly help start things up. Good luck . Lisa

I think it depends on the community you're serving and whether there is a demand there. If I had the budget to do so and didn't have the time to do it myself, I certainly would consider using such a service. In my city we actually had a business like that called "A Touch of Mom". They leased space in a strip mall and specialized in organizing kids' parties. They could do them at the home or at the building. They had all the materials for themed parties on hand. I thought it was a great idea. Unfortunately it didn't last, but as far as I know it wasn't due to lack of demand. The co-founder, a wonderful woman heavily involved in the school and voulunteering, died of lymphoma that same year. :(

So I think you should look carefully at your possible customers, think about how much they'd be willing to spend for such a service, and then figure out if you can make a profit off of that. (I'm sure I'm not advising you to do anything you haven't already thought of) If you think so, then go for it.

I think it's a great idea, but it depends on your area. Where I live, there are a few companies that do that, and they seem to be rather sucsessfull.

I can't see myself, personally using the service for something as a kids birthday, but I also can't afford it kwim? I would consider it when facing planning a large party such as our kids baptism parties where there were over 200 people lol.

good luck and let us know what you do!

I think it's a great idea, but I agree with Erin, look at the market in your area.
