How do you feel about her?
I like my MIL.
My MIL doesn't speak English and comes from a different culture so we don't always see eye-to-eye.
A little bit of both! lol She's actually really nice and I do like her. She would never "butt in" and tell us how she really feels, which is a good thing and a bad thing!
Psycho, witchy MIL made me crack up this morning.
My MIL drives me nuts somtimes. She means well, I just wish she could hear how some of her comments really sound.
"She wanted her son to mary a European girl."
That really could be a cultural issue.
I just heard that my MIL thinks one of my twins is developmentally slow. I kept telling her that the twins are not really behind. They were born 2 months early. So if you think about they really should be 1.5 months old and not 3.5 months old.
My son just rolled over for the first time yesterday, which is great. And my daughter is really starting to lift her head really well while doing tummy time. They are two different people and are going to develop differently. She is only about 10lbs so she needs to get the strength to lift her head. My MIL said that she will only be happy when Kate can do the things Nick can.
It sounds like your MIL doesn't get the idea that your twins are technically 3.5 months old by DOB but really they are 1.5 since they were born early.
I still do not think that she would get it. She means well, but I do not know how long I'm going to be able to bite my tongue.
My mother in law had alzheimers when I met her 11 years ago, so she wasn't quite herself. She would tell me though how much better I was that my husbands first wife, which I always liked! :smileywink: She has sinced passed away.
I do make up for it with mothers of my own. I have to deal with my exhusbands mom from time to time, and then I have my biological mom, my dads second wife who was my step mom for 23 years so I consider her a mom and his new wife who would rather die than be called mom or grandma! LOL!
