Since I'm looking for a new job anyway, I thought I'd look at online stuff. There seem to be opportunities out there for teachers to teach or tutor online. Have any of you ever tried this? I'm just curious how it works because I'd like to know what it's about before giving anyone my information. TIA!

I haven't done any tutoring, but I have taught higher ed online. Most of the major online universities require a masters for their education classes. They require a training class and the first class is usually done with a mentor observing. The pay isn't that great for the time you spend if you really try to do a good job.

There are some online K-12 schools that are accredited and hire permanent staff. Our state was looking at contracting with one of the more well-known companies, K12, but as far as I know it ran into legal challenges based on funding
