What do you think?  One of the county-wide districts in my area did their Back to School Blitz yesterday. On one day the teachers visit the home of every student in the district. I can see how this would be possible for elementary teachers to get to 20-30 homes, but surely HS teachers don't visit every student's home when they have five or six classes a day. They didn't explain the plan in the paper but they do make a big deal about it.  They say that the blitz improves parental involvement and show the parents and students that the teachers really care..  Have you had any experience with something like this?

I've never done it but, they do something similar in one of the big cities in my state. They do it just before school starts to remind the parents to send the kids to school. Apparently, attendance is pretty poor the first week of school and this is suppose to improve it.
