I'm done! I'm relieved and ready to move on with my life. It was sad to say good bye to some of my co-workers but I'm glad to be out of that toxic environment. Something unexpected happened today as well.
My AP stopped in to see me this morning. He said "I just wanted to come in and wish you well. Things get crazy on the last day. I want you to know that I always thought you were professional. Please let me know if there is anything I can do," Then he shook my hand. So I asked him if he would write me a letter of recommendation because by the way he was talking to me I got the feeling that he thought I was shafted. I never had a problem with him, just my principal and other admins. I'm glad he said he would give me a letter, because although I was told when I "resigned" that I could get one, I don't trust my principal at all. I could see her saying bad things about me.

Most of you are probably done by now, I know NY isn't because dh works there. So happy summer everyone!

I wasn't sure what emoticon to use because I'm happy for you (that you have been able to walk away from that toxic environment)

I'm glad you're out of a place you're happy to be out of.

Believe me I understand every feeling you are experiencing. Here's my current list of bad news.

I went back for summer school and didn't have an office or a mailbox! I had taken my personal items home, but I was amazed they moved someone else in my office without checking with me! I knew I'd probably get moved to the outsiders section

Wow! You've really had some bad luck lately. It can get really discouraging sometimes, can't it? I can see why you want to consider a career change. I'm going to give myself until the new year, since I'm collecting unemployment and dh has a good job. If I don't find any library positions by then, I will consider other things. This is NOT where I wanted to be or expected to be in my career at this point in my life. I know you have a grandchild so you must be middle aged as well. It just stinks to be unsettled at this time of your life. Here's hoping we both have better luck in the near future!

Yep! I took a year off about ten years ago and I did enjoy it. The
