It's summer! I'm sure you are all sitting by the pool sipping a cold drink and school is the last thing on your mind, right? Yeah, right! In between the professional development, lesson planning, licensing renewal courses, and committee meetings what else have you managed to do that was just for you? What have you done that's taken your mind off of school and let you really relax or enjoy yourself for a while? Please share!

For me, I've taken a road trip with my hubby and spent a lot of time with my granddaughter. I've still got other plans, like reading a couple of good books and another vacation with family, but my focus has been on looking for a new job that provides a new challenge and some new rewards while teaching two summer courses.

My most enjoyable day this summer so far was the 4th of July. We spent all day at our lake club. The weather was beautiful and all 3 of my kids were there with friends. I was very happy that they joined us because that is far from a certainty since they're 20, 17 and 15. The day ended with a beautiful fireworks display.

I'm trying not to obsess on my unemployment and am checking job postings regularly, but still have had no luck. Right now I'm trying to convince myself I'm still on vacation. I think that may work until Sept. rolls around.

Hope everyone else is enjoying their summer vacation.
