For those of you that are back laboring in the classroom and those of you that hope to be back working soon, have a relaxing Labor Day and take time to renew your spirits and dedication.

Mother Nature is sure reminding us that the fall is almost here. It was 102 degrees on Saturday and it's going to be about 70 today!

Our Labor Day weekend weather held out. They were predicting rain all three days but, it didn't rain at all. It was just muggy with breaks of sun, which was pretty nice considering it could have been a washout. I spent every day at the lake club we belong to.
The week leading up to Labor day was a nightmare for me. I was one of the millions of people effected by Irene. I had no power for 5 days!. We have well water so no electricity means no water either. It was just awful. One day I actually went to the creek up the road and baled 5 gallons of water so that I could flush the toilets. Later that day, I found out the town was allowing people to use the hoses in front of the senior center and library to fill containers for toilet flushing. It was really hard being cut off. I went to the library a few times to use my computer. That's how I found out about the water. I had to throw out most of the food in my fridge. Luckily, our insurance policy covers loss of food in a power outage so that lessened the sting.
No news at all on the job front. It's now been an entire year that I have been unemployed. I'm feeling very discouraged. Sigh....

Labor day was great. We had a very nice day. We went down to this beach on the bay and went swimming. Kendall loved it dearly. She screamed when we took her home, typical two year old stuff.

As for being back. Grr... *sigh*. I am having a very hard time teaching as the changes from year to year make things worse and worse. I love teaching, but the limitations and requirements placed on me are making me nuts. I am tired both mentally and physically, I am sick of it all. I am really trying to figure out what else I can do that I will enjoy and will not stress me out and eat up all of my time. I need to do something new. I also need to grow a pair and seriously get out of this situation because I have been saying this for like three years now.

It sound like life goes on for everyone. I did nothing on Labor Day except to do some research for my job. It's OK but I told the principal I didn't want to do duties that would affect my programs during the interview. She agreed with that when I was hired, but of course today she came in and said she just had to give me a lunch duty. That takes a big block of my time right at the busiest time of the day for the schedule. I can't schedule anyone during a reading period, their related arts periods, and of course their recesses and lunch periods.
