How embarrassing!

Not for me personally but, for my district. Yesterday my district webpage had a link to President Obama's speech to school kids from Tues. What's embarrassing about that you say? Well whoever is responsible for the page, and I think it is my superintendent's secretary wrote O'Bama. Did you know he was Irish?! Pretty sad for a place whose business it is to educate children. It actually stayed that way until this morning.

Now it makes sense that my supt has sent out letters to the staff with spelling errors and grammatical errors. Her secretary can't spell either so there really is no hope.

You should see the daily bulletin the secretary at my step-daughters' elementary school sends out! A former co-worker and I would often chuckle at her spelling and usage errors on a daily basis. The sad thing is, many schools are producing people who are exactly like this: They can't spell or use grammar correctly and they're getting hired for jobs where they have to communicate with the general public.

Currently being at war with my own district office as of late, I could not help but get a little chuckle out of that!

My district just hired an expensive PR person to do our webpage. This appears prominently: Schools are off to a great start this week across the district

My principal once sent out a nasty memo to all the teachers.
