I passed! I passed!

I just got an e-mail from AEPA (Arizona Educator Proficiency Assessments) to unofficially let me know my status (passed) for the Middle School Mathematics exam I took back in April - & that my Official Score Report has been mailed. APril was the 1st exam for this category in our state so they took extra time to estabish the standards for measuring passing scores. By passing the exam I now will have what I need to certify that I meet NCLB guidelines as "highly qualified" to teach middle school math.

Kewl! Now at least I don't have to worry about trying to meet the old requirement of 24 units in math out here in the boonies where we live & they are not available - at least til I decide I'm ready to tackle the Secondary subject examination for Mathematics (if & when I do).

I'm jazzed... I wasn't too sure abount my chances of passing this one on the 1st try w/o the math backround other than teaching the low end classes this past year & all my own review.

Congrats! I loved teaching 7th grade math.

Arizona sounds a little better than ETS/Praxis for that sort of thing. You can PAY $25 to get your score results by phone about a week before you can get them by mail!
