I took off work today for an interview, went well, at the end I was told, oh and there will be a round two tomorrow. WHAT?? Now I'm actually hoping I dont get called cause I cant call in twice, well I can but it wont look good for me.

Guess who got called for a second interview?? I did. Happy?? I should be, but if I dont get it, its guaranteed now that I will lose points on my evaluation scores that come up in December.

So go to second interview and if I get it, great, I'll be happy. New position, wonderful school, exactly to my qualifications. If I dont get it, I have now made sure I will lose points on my evaluation.

Why cant things be simple??

Go for it. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

I am going to do it. And hoping against hope I get it. To go back to a job that I have to be worried about getting a low eval, so tough. Oh well. Just gotta accept the consequences no matter what.

I still don't have a "real job"- I just have a few music students, and right now only one is paying (things'll be better there in the school year.)

Hey, you know the system is never fair. You shoulda stopped off at the convenient care clinic and gottten your aching back examined on the way back from the interview! ;-)

Seriously, don't worry about the points. You are considering moving anyway, remember? If they don't see your ability and dedication by now a point or two won't matter.

I hope it went well in round two.

It went well. Its a new charter school, just opened this year, it stresses the progressivism and constructivist approach to learning. It starts out PreK-3 and will eventually grow to 8th grade.

I loved the environment and I could see that the people who work there, want to be there and its good to get into a place on the ground floor. If I do well (if I get the position) I can move up which would be great for me.

So, Im excited either way. Felt good to be in an environment where my skills were exemplary. There were 6 people and only one other girl I felt was my real competition. Everyone else was not sure of themselves. But as I looked around the building at the staff not alot of people who look like me so I was worried, but to then get the second call back, was reassuring.

Hoping I do get it. I just cant take it with my student anymore, and they have moved her into a class with a bunch of busy special needs kids and an overworked teacher who doesnt know how to handle her. So the room is already draining and its only the second week of school.

Besides, I need room to grow. In a smaller environment and the new school being an upstart, who knows what positions may come up??
