My PT meeting. . .

Hey there,

I know I haven't posted in a while.

I had a parent teacher meeting (for the 15 - 16 y o) today. As expected, some of the parents I should have seen I didn't get to talk to. One parent in particular stood out. I was talking to him about his daughter, who works well but is way too talkative. At one point, he had me holding on while he took a call which, from the sounds of it, could have waited until he was finished talking to me. I saw a parent who was waiting to speak to me looking at him in disgust.

At one point, during an explanation of his daughter's

The initial is so that creepy parents like you can't contact me outside of the school's secure environment. Apple's don't fall far from trees.

LOL. The thing is, it's not so much that he asked about the initial. When he first came and sat down, his daughter wasn't with him. If he had asked then, as a casual opener when I introduced myself, it wouldn't have been THAT strange. But he cut me off, while I was telling him about HIS CHILD, to ask me that - and in her presence, too.

I'd say daddy has an agenda and it's more about being Mr. Cool than actually being a parent. The interruptions and his comments seem to be about his lack of understanding and attempts to distract, change the topic and avoid having to really act on the problem. I bet he doesn't want to face a problem with Miss Social,

It turns out he's just a lech.

I found out today that he tried to hit on a colleague of mine who does not teach, or even KNOW, his daughter.

I'm proud of how I handled him though;

I had a parent stare at my tatas for a good 10 minutes during an IEP meeting yesterday.
