Hi everyone,

I am trying to get back into the teaching field, I had student taught a couple of years ago, but due to starting a family have not started applying for jobs until now. I need help in writing a nice objective for my resume, if anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it...many thanks!

This is not a suggestion unique to the teaching field, but have you gone to a job consultant? There are services, often run by the government, that will help you write a resume and look for a job in your field. I have used these services before, and been happy with what they did for me. Good luck!

Hi Beth,

Thanks for your suggestion - I like the idea but unfortunately money is really tight right now and I can't afford to pay for that... I was hoping to try to wing it on my own.

I don’t know what format you are using for the resume, but here is a cut and paste from mine.

Welcome to the Teacher's Circle! There are a lot of example resumes online if you do a search. Maybe one of them will spark your creativity.

Thanks Sherry! I'm so glad I found this board, you are all so nice! I will definitely try that and get everyone's feedback, that would help lots. I love your suggestions!

I’m sure you did more in your student teaching than you realize… was there a great lesson you developed you can embellish on a bit..I don’t know what area you’re in, but did you help put together a really creative wall to highlight the alphabet or students work?
