I teach 11th and 12th graders. While I know that I complain a lot about them, for the most part, I like them. I have a good relationship with almost all of my students and I rarely have discipline problems. They've been really sweet this year, with the pg and everything.

One of my favorites, "Kyle", has been in my class for two years now (different levels of the subject). Every day Kyle teases me about how fat I'm getting. But he says in such a way, that I know there's no malice behind it at all. For instance, I wore a purple shirt to class and he started singing the Barney theme song. I pretend to be mad, but usually end up laughing with him.

Anyway, today there was a fight outside my classroom while everyone was in the hall. After I rounded up my class, Kyle said that he thought he was going to have to throw some punches if the baby or I had been hurt. I know that it doesn't mean as much since you all don't know Kyle, but to me, it was really sweet.

In this day and age any kid with empathy, manners, and a positive attitude is a great asset to any classroom..

I had my share of nice kids too, when I was teaching in AZ. They make you feel so happy to teach!
