Okay, I'm in charge of school pics for the whole school (1100 kids). Anyway, I have to get a sub because it's considered a professional day for my regular classes. I see this young girl walk in and I know right away she looks familiar to me (yes, she's my sub) ...and I ask her - turns out she was from my first class of students and is a junior in college - studying what... secondary English education. Oh my....I feel sooooo ancient.

I know how you feel. At a previous school my best friend was the computer teacher. She's 10yrs younger than I am and one day I realized that she was in middle school when I started TEACHING middle school. It made me feel old too. It's funny to think that one of your students could now be a peer.

I have a similar experience. Well...a few months back I was in Walmart. A man kept looking at me funny. I got up the nerve and asked him, "do I know you?". I had absolutly no clue who he was but, I figured he must have known who I was by the way he was staring. Turns out when I was younger (20ish?) I supervised an aftercare program...he was in it. He proceeded to introduce me to his WIFE and 2 kids!! I did remember him and his mom. But, LORD I felt OLD!!
