I am taking a pragmatic approach to my job. The jobs market is almost laughable at this point. There are so few jobs and money is so tight that I am pretty sure there are no offers coming my way. To add to it I found out that a county near by had to cut so deep that they got rid of teachers with 3 years of experience. It seems stupid to take the risk for me. Things are so rocky in the money department. My husband and I talked. We are going to make changes to our house to make it more comfortable (yes we are in the hole on it but I would rather be in the hole in a house I like than in the hole in one I dislike knowing I have to stay for 5 plus years). I am going to stay at my job knowing that with my year of experience the cuts would need to be very deep for me to be gone. I am at peace with this decision. Things could be so much worse. We have jobs, we have our health, we have a beautiful child so we are counting our blessings and ignoring the greener grass.

Sherry, I'm sad to say that I agree with you about your recent view of human nature.

Its not the kids fault and they do need to be fed. BUT PLEASE KNOW THAT MANY OF THE PARENTS TO ABUSE THE SYSTEM. I have people in my own family who dont feed the kids at home cause "they can get it at school" Makes you a little resentful, but you cant deny the kids. Keep the faith everyone.

I hate that this horrible economy has destroyed our ability to dream. I know you are being realistic for the sake of money and family, but dont you dare give up. Postpone, but never give up. I'm not.

I understand completely. That bird in the hand is better than those in the bushes or none at all. We are OK as far as our home's value and our income is OK. I just want to do something that is low(er) stress and I want to
