Public library book sales

One of our local libraries has gigantic used book sales often and they are AWESOME. There's one coming up in a couple weeks.

But one branch has books out for sale almost everytime I go in there. Last time, I was able to get 5 of 6 editions of People & Places reference series for $1 per book plus other books. I went in today and they had the hardbacks on sale for 50¢. I spotted a World Almanac (hardback) and told Aly to get that one (she's into that kind of book, but I'm thinking teacher and to look around while I renewed my library card.

For $4, we got A to Zoo (5th edition, 1998), which is a BIG list of children's picture book titles, another children's catalog like that but with all kinds of genres, the 2001 Almanac, a kids' U.S. Almanac, a book on galaxies, a book on big cats, on book on keeping kids off of drugs & drinking, and a book on countries/flags around the world.

Our public library does them twice a year and they are great. They have videos, DVDs, CDs and all types of books.

Yours certainly sounds better than ours. Most of what is for sale at ours is whatever was donated, but didn't make the cut to make it onto the library shelves. At least that's what it looks like to me. They sell it by the inch - fifty cents an inch for soft covers and $1 an inch of hardbacks. I've found a few things over the years, but nothing to get excited about.
