Revisiting Dress Code

I know that the dress code was talked about a few months ago, but I thought I would give my 2 cents.
I worked at a school system that was very formal.

I must say, I think there are several factors that go into making a school system a good or bad place to work, and dress code is nowhere near my top five.
I think comfort is a major consideration, but there is professional comfort and sloppy comfort. Some people think only sweats or PJs are comfortable and that is ridiculous.
Here is my unique point of view.
I think something else to consider is the subject area taught. We have three teachers in our building who wear jeans on a regular basis. Two of them teach industrial arts and one teaches agriculture. It would not be appropriate or even safe for them to wear dress pants in a shop area.
I also agree that this isn't the single most important thing that makes or breaks the climate of a school.
