Hi Sherry,

Can I take advantage of your expertise? I have an interview on Tuesday (Hallelujah!) and it's at a small junior college. It's one of those schools where you can study fashion merchandising, crimminal justice and dental hygienist classes. The interview is for a library director. I know you work in a university, which is quite a bit different, but they are both higher ed. Any tips for me or things that I should know about college students?

Thanks in advance!

Beth makes a good point. I remember going to college and thinking I had so much to learn from so many educated people. I remember being excited to learn about my chosen profession and eager to learn how to succeed.

Thanks for your wonderful as always response. It's too bad you think that you won't work in education again, because you are clearly a talented and knowledgeable resource.
I've been doing my homework for the interview and will let you know how it goes.
Thanks again!

As many interviews as I have been on, and there have been a lot, I will never get used to how different they all are. This one lasted only about 15 mins and I think I asked as many questions as she asked me. I was supposed to be interviewed by 2 ppl but, one of them couldn't make it. She basically just took the list of requirements from the job ad, (collection development, budgeting, cataloging, supervising) and asked me about my experience with each of these things. It was a very easy interview, but I don’t know how she could get any idea about who is best suited for the position based on those few questions. I really don’t know what to think.
When or if I hear back, I will let you know. Thanks for your help.

Don't they drive you crazy? I used to be able to pretty much predict the type of things they would ask and prepare basic answers for each key consideration that showed my training, experiences and ability. Now you get irrelevant
