Teachers have to go back for about 2 hours on Monday to stuff report cards in envelopes.
I had to pack everything and bring it all home since I don't have a job next year.
I ended up crying in my principal's office this morning. I've been asking him constantly if there's any word of a job for next year. Technically, they are NOT supposed to hire anyone from mid-April to job fair (June 6). He already has hired back a transfer from within the school system who is a coach, so he's been coming to practices and stuff. But, he has 3 open positions and can't offer ANY to me. He has told me that he has "commitments to fulfill" (which means political commitments...so and so's daughter just graduated, etc etc). I don't know anybody in the school system, so I can't get any political favors.
I didn't cry heavily, but the tears were falling. I was embarrassed (he's not a very "emotional" person). I'm just really worried about getting in the system next year, about insurance...if I DO have to take a position elsewhere, I will either have to pay COBRA or get private insurance for 2 months.
And he says, just like many other people, you're highly qualified, you're going to get in! Well, being highly qualified will not keep my insurance for me if I have to go elsewhere!
