Hello everyone,

Just giving a quick update. Yes I moved to DC. Found a great place, found a job and looking for a second job so I can afford to shop. LOL.

Totally excited about my new life. Missing my family and friends alot though. Definitely can't wait to go home to visit.

But I'm loving the area, its right off a metro, the area has lots of cool things to do and see.

I'll actually be finishing the year as an aide but will be up for a teacher position next year. Here's the thing though. I want to stay an aide. I'd much rather be an aide, work a second job to take up the financial slack and just be able to go home.

I'm tired of all the other crap that goes along with teaching. I'll sub or be an aide, but I honestly don't know if I want to be in charge of a classroom again. I would love the opportunity to be an instructional coach, but I'll wait till I've been in the system a minute.

Now here's hoping they don't do what they did last year and lay off 900 people after they hired them. But hey, I'll just sub in other districts. Super fun times. Yay.

So, I'm on my new journey and enjoying it so far. Happiness is a hard choice to make, but I'm making it now and I love it.

All right! You're in the real world at last!

As for me I'm teaching two classes during summer sessions, taking care of my granddaughter when school's out (she's going to class with me two days a week as exhibit #1), and looking for a job.

As I said in the job post, I'm in need of a change. I'm interviewing for a media specialist opening this afternoon and I have apps in for three job coaching/professional development openings. The local community college is also looking for a department chair for their education program. I have to get that app done tonight or tomorrow.

Hey you (super cyber hug)

Sounds like a busy summer as usual. Yes, I've been on the application track for sometime now and I'm glad to get back off for awhile, geez and cheez its tedious.

As for the move, I just moved with my clothes, everything else is at home with family. I'm going back when school is out and getting the rest of my clothes, my dog, and my kitchen things and thats about all. Then I'll go back right before school starts and get my my teacher things.

But I sold all my furniture and car to make the trip here. Its truly a complete starting over. I even signed up for some early childhood classes to I can take the Praxis and receive my Early Childhood endorsement.

I've posted online ads to be a tutor, a baby sitter and a dogwalker and I'm also looking for a weekend job and hopefully a job teaching summer school.

And I also applied for another unemployment extension. If I can't find work for the summer, I'm gonna need something until school starts.

I do have friends who have family members here, so I've connected with them.

And I am dating someone here, but its going into the friend zone because he's pressuring me for sex like a teenage boy and I'm just tired of dealing with it.

My friends and family claim they are coming to visit here this summer so lets hope they do. I'm learning to get around on the metro and I really love my area.

I'm starting over yet again and well I just hope this is it for awhile, it's starting to bug me.

But that's me in a nutshell. Good luck on the interview and I'll email you later.

Okay guys, I'm a little frustrated. I filled out paperwork and signed all forms, everything is in place. But I have to wait for an official offer letter and start date. Seriously, I'm going stir crazy waiting on it. Is this how it works in districts now??

I only worked in charters in Detroit. So when I signed the contract, I was at work. Or no more than a week following it. But I was given a start date upon signing papers.

I just need a job. I need to
