your students or parents? Okay first a disclaimer: *****To parent lurkers or even teacher lurkers who feel this is inappropriate. This is just a way for us to free ourselves and get our frustrations out. We are certified, educated, intelligent, professionals who would never say these things to you or your child even if we are thinking it. So please don't get too bent out of shape, Thanks!!*****
Alright now, ladies since we are on break and have a little wind down time, lets get it out. When your parents say ridiculous things to you or when your students do something totally uncalled for what do you REALLY want to say. List the scenario and then tell what you said and what you really wanted to say.....
Me first: So a parent was concerned that I took her child's FOOD. Now I use that term loosely because the kid a bag of HONEY BUNS she brought for lunch. "You don't have no right to tell them what they can eat, if a parent wants them to have 6 honey buns, then let them have it." What did I really WANT to say:
"Maybe if you fed your child's mind with more than junk food, she would be able to read a simple sentence instead of breaking into tears when I ask her to read."
What did I really say: "Ma'am, I didn't take it, I just told her she couldn't have them all and I am the one who has to live with her after she's filled herself full of junk food."
Who's next?? Come on, what did you say? What did you REALLY want to say. I think this could be so much fun.
