Who's here? Roll call!

It's been very quiet. Since this is a support board I guess that's a good thing. I hope all is going well and you have little need to vent and ask for help dealing with a bad situation. I'd like to know who's checking in and not posting because there is little need, who's just a lurker who reads and never responds, and who's new and just discovering us.

I am not a teacher, but I just found this board and I hope I can find a teacher's prospective into motivating my son into shedding his 'slacker' ways and heading towards more organized study habits. I posted down below.

Thank you.

Oops I apologize, I just read where I should go if I am a parent with a question. I will delete my thread.

Hi, Sue! We don't mind parents who have positive attitudes and sincerely need help.

Everyone has been very quiet and unresponsive lately.

Ok, I'm here. You want to hear a big vent. I'm running a book fair basically single handedly this week. I started this job in Sept and they told me that I would have to do a book fair. The former librarian is still in the district and she told me she did it every year and she had a few parent volunteers but, it was mostly just her. However, she had no teaching responsibilities. When they hired me this year, I was hired to teach 2 periods a day. So this book fair falls right after T-day and they tell me they will deliver the books the Wed before T-day which happens to be a half day AND I have no one to help me unpack it. I had to ask my principal if she could give me a couple of paras to help me out and I called my daughter who's home from college to come by and help me.

So this week I'm starting a new rotation. (I teach new kids every 15 days.) and I'm running the book fair basically by myself. They send me a couple of paras for a couple of hours when they can spare them. I'm not having any fun at all. I bet you're sorry you asked now.
Thanks for "listening".

I'm here. I'm mostly lurking 95% of the time because I'm up to my eyeballs (figuratively, of course) in grading, curriculum planning and other school-related activities. No rest for the weary.

I'm here. The parent making my life unbearable is on vacation, so that should help a little until almost Christmas. :)

I don't post a lot anyway, but now that I'm 7+ months pregnant, I fall asleep most nights before I get anything done (like message boards). Ahh, the joys of being pregnant and working full time.....
