Hi all,

We're looking for some member tips from BTDT moms about being a brand-new mom! If you could fill in the blank, what would you say?

I wish someone had told me ____ about being a new mom (anything on newborn care, new mom care, etc).

It could be about anything - from the lack of sleep to the strange things that happen to our bodies after giving birth. ;) We're working on a few new slideshows for this topic and your help would be most appreciated if you're willing to share.

Thanks so much!

Okay, here's mine.

I wish someone would have told me that lack of sleep would lead me to do things I never thought I'd do- like forgetting to turn the car off before I put gas in it, or putting lotion on my toothbrush instead of toothpaste.

Night sweats post delivery.

About a week after giving birth I woke up from a dead sleep to find soaked sheets. I mean soaked! After that I started sleeping with towels under me and several by the bed for a quick change.

You don't want to deal with stripping the bed when you're recovering from a c-section and you are getting 2 hours of sleep at a stretch.

I wish someone would have told me that it was possible to love a little person so much, which who up until the day that he was born was a stranger.

I wish someone would have told me about feeling so lonely.

I was pretty informed through my whole pregnancy, and after. I took child birthing classes. Searched all over the interned, Watched videos, Read articles, and books. All about before during and after having a baby. So i really was prepared but one thing i didn't know is that i would feel as lonely as i did.

Or at least i didn't understand it as much until after i had my daughter.
I just thought i wouldn't feel lonely because my friends were at my house, and family, and my fiance. But it wasn't their company that would help me not feel lonely it was that i really didn't have anyone who was going through the same things i was, and i didn't want to go anywhere because i was big still, and couldn't fit in my old pants, so i felt like a fat cow.
